General Process After Purchasing Your Puppy

The following outlines the general process, using an example for a country with strict rabies antibody certification requirements.
For many countries, a serum test is not required, allowing for departure within a few weeks.
Procedures marked in red are specific to countries requiring a serum test.

Puppy Purchase (Assumed around 3 months old)

Rabies Vaccination (1st): Administered promptly after purchase.

(Puppy around 4 months old) Rabies Vaccination (2nd)

Serum Collection and Testing: Approximately 2 weeks after the 2nd rabies vaccination, serum is collected and sent to a designated laboratory. This is to confirm that the rabies antibody titer meets the required level.

In the event the antibody titer does not meet the standard on the first test, re-testing may be necessary.

(Puppy around 5 months old) Receipt of Serum Test Results

Export Preparation: Once the antibody titer is confirmed from the serum test results, an application for export quarantine is submitted to the Japanese Animal Quarantine Service, and the puppy is taken to the quarantine station.

Shipping Arrangements: Concurrently, we will arrange transportation with an international shipping company such as Nippon Express.

Please understand that this entire process, including the puppy's growth and waiting time for test results, may take several months.

In addition to the puppy's main price, the following export-related costs will be incurred.

Domestic Transport from Tokyo	70,000~	Cost for when shipping from Tokyo International Airport (Haneda/Narita) is necessary instead of Kansai International Airport.
Travel Crate	14,000~	IATA compliant crate, includes water/food containers. Varies by size.
Air Freight	100,000~300,000	Higher for destinations further from Japan (e.g., Europe). Around 150,000 JPY for Asian countries. Varies by puppy's weight and crate size. Confirmed at time of quotation.
Customs Clearance Fees	15,000~30,000	Customs fees for each country. Often required.
Other Miscellaneous Expenses	10,000~50,000	For unexpected additional procedures or documents.
Rearing and Management Fee	Boarding fee from contract to departure.

Example of Rearing and Management Fee (Until Departure)

For departure in 2 months: 30,000 JPY + (700 JPY x approx. 30 days) ≈ approx. 50,000 JPY - 51,000 JPY

For departure in 3 months: 30,000 JPY + (700 JPY x approx. 60 days) ≈ approx. 70,000 JPY - 72,000 JPY

(The exact number of days will be determined by the contract date and departure date, and calculated on a pro-rata basis.)

Important Notes

The above costs are estimates and may vary due to exchange rate fluctuations, changes in airfreight charges, the puppy's growth, test results, etc. A formal quotation will be provided once a specific puppy is chosen.

All certificates will be issued in English.

Please be sure to check the airline's pet transport regulations (crate size, acceptance conditions, etc.) in advance. We will also provide support.
